In conventional systems, steel pipes are used to transport liquids and gases, such as bilge water, ballast, drainage, fire protection, and other systems. The normal operation of these systems is crucial for the daily operation of ships. For example, a 300000 ton ultra large oil tanker can use hundreds of tons of steel pipes and over tens of kilometers of pipe fittings.
