Power Generation Industry

Steel pipes are widely used in the power generation industry, mainly in high-temperature and high-pressure environments such as thermal power plants and nuclear power plants. For example, thick walled seamless steel pipes manufactured by large vertical metal extruders are very important in thermal power plants, and nuclear power plants also require this high-performance steel pipe.

In the thermal power generation industry, steel pipes are mainly used to transport high-temperature and high-pressure steam and cooling water. The boilers and turbines in thermal power plants need to withstand extremely high temperatures and pressures, so the steel pipes used must have high strength and corrosion resistance.

The steel pipes used in nuclear power plants also need to have extremely high pressure and temperature resistance performance. The main steam pressure of nuclear power plants is usually between 25~31MPa, and the steam temperature can reach 580~610 ℃, or even higher. These special environments require steel pipe materials to add a large amount of alloying elements, such as cobalt, nickel, manganese, vanadium, etc., to improve their performance at high temperatures.
